Comparison of All Graduate Psychology Programs in Colorado
This table compares all of Colorado’s graduate-level psychology programs from not-for-profit schools on multiple factors.
We’ve included accreditation status by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC), and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). We also highlight the levels offered, 2020-2022 pass rates for the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP), and tuition information. Note EPPP scores are reported by degree type (clinical, counseling, or school psychology) and level (PhD or PsyD), so some schools may be listed more than once to include all pass rates. Schools in bold text offer hybrid or online options. Tuition per credit hour is more relevant for master’s and PsyD programs due to the fact that PhD students typically receive more program-awarded funding.

Student Review: “I am very pleased that I chose The University of Colorado’s psychology department for my undergraduate education. The first two years were a bit of a challenge for me as most of the classes were quite large lecture courses. It was difficult for me to feel invested when I was just one of four hundred other students. That said, the professors were great and were able to use their passion and experience to engage the students. My last two years in the program were fantastic. I really enjoyed the smaller classes taught by professors who were leading researchers/writers on the topic they were teaching. They prepared me for a successful career in psychology with the great amount of knowledge they shared with me. The campus is absolutely stunning with a great diversity among the students. The surrounding area is gorgeous and helped me thoroughly enjoy my undergraduate experience. I am very pleased that I made the choice to attend University of Colorado’s psychology program.” – Student at University of Colorado
Student Review: “I’ve really enjoyed my time as a student here at CU. I feel that I’ve learned a lot even though the courses are not exactly challenging. My favorite class so far has been an interdisciplinary course – Language Development. It’s incredibly interesting to learn about how children learn language. I have enjoyed connecting with my professors and I cannot wait to see what the next two years hold.” – Student at University of Colorado

Student Review: “I spent four years pursuing my BA in psychology at the University of Northern Colorado, and I felt it was an extremely worthwhile experience. The rigor of the courses varied from lax to quite challenging, but I always felt I was learning something new and relevant to my future trade (teaching). The faculty was all extremely knowledgeable and, from what I could tell, highly qualified in their areas of expertise. UNC’s tuition was, furthermore, the lowest for any state school in Colorado – which was a major plus. They even offered a $1000 scholarship for graduating high school seniors with fairly good grades (GPA 3.3 and above). The campus is quite nice (better, I’d say, than either CU’s or CSU’s), and the city’s got plenty of things to keep students entertained. I’m quite pleased with my decision to attend UNC.” -Student at University of Northern Colorado
