Comparison of All Graduate Psychology Programs in Washington DC

This table compares all of Washington DC’s graduate-level psychology programs from not-for-profit schools on multiple factors.

We’ve included accreditation status by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC), and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). We also highlight the levels offered, 2020-2022 pass rates for the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP), and tuition information. Note EPPP scores are reported by degree type (clinical, counseling, or school psychology) and level (PhD or PsyD), so some schools may be listed more than once to include all pass rates. Tuition per credit hour is more relevant for master’s and PsyD programs due to the fact that PhD students typically receive more program-awarded funding.

Student Review: “I really enjoyed my experience as a psychology major at George Washington University. The first psychology course you will take is Intro to Psychology. This course will tell you the big pictures of everything and psychology and will get you very excited for the major you are about to explore. Many students are also psych majors, so there will always be someone to study with. During your psychology writing courses, you will learn and be able to apply everything you have learned allowing you to be able to go through the class with flying colors. The only downfall to this major is that I wish there were a wider selection of psychology electives to take. The ones offered are great, but at such a big school I would expect more. All in all, psychology at GWU is one of the greatest programs you could ask for.” – Student at George Washington University
